Taking Advice from Others can Save Your Business

red and white lifesaver ring in air with sky background, as if just thrown to rescue someoneDo you find it a challenge to take advice from others, even when your business is sinking? Do you pay high fees to hire coaches and experts, only to second-guess their recommendations and do things your own way, with the same disappointing results? If this sounds like you, are you willing to change to save your business?

Being an entrepreneur and business owner is great responsibility – the buck stops at you! Your clients, family, employees, and community are all looking to you for answers. When you are accustomed to being the decision-maker and advice-giver, it can be uncomfortable to swap roles – after all, only you know what is in your best interest, right? Or do you?

Take a step back. Breath. Take a look around and reflect on your business. Is your business struggling, and do you feel like you are drowning?

I read an interesting article about how to help a drowning person, which gave me some insight as to why we often do not take advice even when it will save us. Did you know that a drowning person may not be able to speak because physiologically speech is secondary to breathing? Or that the instinct to keep their head above water prevents them from waving for help? Or that they may act very calm with a peaceful facial expression, because all energy is committed to keeping their head above water?

Fortunately for you, this is just a metaphor! If you have the sensation of “drowning” business-wise, you still have the power to assist in your own rescue, whereas a person physically drowning in water often cannot. An important step to getting help is to recognize what has been driving your actions. This will help you make the distinctions needed in selecting someone you can confide in to give advice you can trust and follow. It may save your business!

The Wizard of Oz – Open the Curtain and Be Authentic

photo of ruby red slippers with quote "I don't think we're in Kansas anymore, Toto"Have you ever seen the movie the Wizard of Oz?

Of course you have!!

Today’s blog is about seeing behind the veil that hid the Wizard and exposed him for what he was: a con artist, trying to scare people into believing that he was a powerful Wizard when it all was done using “Smoke and Mirrors.”

We all do this on occasion, trying to appear to be smarter than the next person, or more with it or in tune with our souls than the next person. But that is just “Smoke and Mirrors” trying to protect us from letting other people know that we all have insecurities and don’t want to share them with the people who are in our lives or whom we meet.

Why would be do this?

It is because we are afraid to appear to be insecure to one another for fear of not being accepted or loved. This is such a habit that you may not even be aware that you are doing it, or what is motivating your actions

And my response to this is: Be More Authentic!

How?

Start by opening up your heart and admitting your fear. This can be done privately, and written in a journal. The next step is to tell someone you trust. Once you do this, you will start becoming more authentic because there is less to hide.

Thank You Tracy Repchuk

tracy_whitebgTracy Repchuk is a #1 Amazon.com Best Selling Author and the Top Woman Speaker in the World for Internet Marketing.

Why thank her on a blog instead of a personal note? Her programs are too good to keep to myself! My branding came further in 2 months with Tracy, than it had in 2 years. Do you want this for yourself?

This website is the result of Tracy Repchuk’s 2-month Intensive Personalized “Done For You” program in which her team did ALL the logo design and technical work in making this site, plus another site: http://turndisabilitytoability.com/, plus set up an autoresponder, plus guide book cover design, plus set up this blog, plus SEO work, plus so much more!  All I had to do was provide the content.

With Tracy Repchuk, “Personalized” does not only mean that it is all about you, personally (which it is). It also means that it is done by her, personally.

Tracy’s team did the technical work in the background, while she personally:

– Called me for the Business Strategy Call which was all about my specific niche and goals. She then sent me the video of the call, which was awesome to refer to so I could stay on track.

– Responded to numerous emails, at all times of day and night, on weekend, in detail, with excellent guidance and instruction.

– Used her personal connections to get me scheduled to be interviewed on a radio show with over 100,000 listeners, and for my book, From Flawed to Fantastic, to be published by Motivational Press.

– She far exceeded the program outline in numerous ways, which brought out the best in me.

If a one-on-one program like this is out of your budget, and you still want to benefit from the same great information and training that Tracy gave me, the next best thing is to take her Internet Success Mastery online courses and use her book, 31 Days to Millionaire Marketing Miracles, as a guide.
